| The night market in Luang Prabang |
We took advantage of my parents' offer to take a few things home for us and bought our first souvenirs at the Luang Prabang night market. I hope they don't end up regretting that offer!
The Lao people are so kind I hated to barter for anything. The first night I was looking at a painting I liked, but planned to buy later in the week. I made the mistake of asking for the price and then starting to walk away. The owner started calling lower and lower prices after me until she named a price so low that I felt like I had to buy. I guess I was bartering without even knowing it -- I have a lot to learn about Asian markets!
