The locals in Listvyanka, a resort town along Lake Baikal, say that swimming in the lake adds 25 years to your life. We weren't going to miss that chance!
The temperature of the lake is about 40 °F right now. Brrrr! During our first two days at the lake it was easy to make excuses to put off the swim, but this morning time was running out. After breakfast we walked across the street to the shore. I was first.

It was Sara's turn next. I have rarely seen her move as quickly as she did to get into and out of that lake. Check out her expression just after she got out of the water! Good thing I was waiting with a towel!
