Petra by Night

A few days each week Petra opens at night and invites visitors to walk through the Siq in candlelight for a Bedouin concert at the Treasury.  We arrived in Petra late in the afternoon and were in luck – that evening was Petra by Night.  We made the illuminated walk through the Siq, and our first views of Petra were of the candlelit Treasury.   

The following afternoon we realized just how lucky we had been that Petra by Night fell on our first evening.  After a long, hot day exploring Petra, there was no way we wanted to make the two mile round trip walk to see the Siq and Treasury again.  It was really special to see Petra for the first time in such a unique way.
