Atalah, a local Bedouin, who spent a few days showing us around Wadi Rum |
The Bedouin are a semi-nomadic Arabian people who dwell predominantly in the desert. There are Bedouin tribes all over the Middle East, but we were lucky enough to spend several days with the Bedouin in the Wadi Rum desert in southern Jordan.
When I think of the days we spent with the Bedouin a few words come to mind: gracious, hospitable, musical, and fun-loving . . . and boy do they drink a lot of tea! It was the hospitality of the Bedouin that made our time in Wadi Rum so memorable.
